Information you provide

When you subscribe, we receive your email address and the information submitted with your signup. Subscription records can include the signup source, time and consent wording needed to document your request. When you contact us, we receive your message, contact details and any puzzle or technical information you include. Provide only what is needed to help with your request.

Information from signup partners

If you request Triviosity emails through a partner's signup page, we may receive your email address and a record of that request from the partner. Contact us if you believe you were subscribed without permission. Receiving our newsletter does not, by itself, mean you have agreed to receive marketing from other businesses.

Information from your visit

Website hosting and security services process technical details such as your IP address, browser, requested page and request time to deliver pages and investigate problems. Embedded puzzle tools may process device information and use cookies or browser storage to provide their features. Optional analytics, when enabled, may record page visits and interactions such as puzzle starts or completions. Identifiers and hashed values can still be personal information; they should not be assumed anonymous.

How information is used

We use information to provide requested newsletters, handle subscription changes, answer questions, investigate corrections, operate the puzzle experience and protect against misuse. Where enabled and permitted, measurement helps us understand how people use the site and emails, and advertising helps support the service. We do not need sensitive health information, government identification numbers or payment details to respond to an ordinary puzzle-support request.

Providers and disclosures

Providers that support hosting, puzzle delivery, email, security, analytics and privacy controls receive information needed for their functions. PuzzleMe by Amuse Labs supplies our embedded crossword experience. Outside links and third-party services have their own privacy practices.

We may disclose information to meet legal obligations, protect rights or security, or as part of a business transaction, subject to applicable protections. Information may be processed outside your state or country; applicable privacy laws can differ.

Email subscriptions and measurement

Use the unsubscribe link in a Triviosity marketing email to stop those emails. Email preferences do not change website cookie choices, and an unsubscribe request is not the same as a request to delete all information. We may retain limited suppression records to help prevent unwanted resubscription.

Email delivery, open and link-click information may be processed when those measurement features are enabled. Open rates are not a precise record of readership because email applications can load or block tracking automatically.

Cookies and advertising

Cookies and similar storage can support essential functions, remember choices and enable optional measurement or advertising. Browser settings can limit or clear stored information, but doing so may affect features and does not erase records already held by us or our providers.

Where Google AdSense is enabled, Google and other advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to select and measure advertising using visits to this and other websites. You can review Google's use of data and manage personalized advertising through its controls. Additional enabled ad networks and their choice links will be listed in this policy.

Your privacy choices

Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, obtain a portable copy, withdraw consent, or object to or restrict certain processing. Some laws also provide choices concerning sale, sharing, targeted advertising and certain uses of sensitive information.

To make a request, email privacy@triviosity.co or write to the address below. Explain the request and provide enough information to locate the relevant record. We may need to verify identity for access or deletion, or an agent's authority to act for you. Do not send identity documents with an initial request. Opt-out requests should not require an account or unnecessary identity verification.

We will handle applicable rights within the required timeframes and explain any permitted exception. Where an appeal right applies, reply to our response with ‘Privacy appeal.’ You can also contact the relevant regulator. Exercising applicable privacy rights will not result in unlawful discrimination.

Retention and security

Retention depends on why information was collected, whether the service or request remains active, security needs and legal obligations. Newsletter records support delivery and subscription choices; correspondence supports resolving requests; technical records support operation and investigation. Limited consent and suppression records may remain after an unsubscribe. Cookie expiry and deletion of related server records are different events.

We use safeguards appropriate to the information and service, but no online system is risk-free.

Children

Triviosity is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
